Education and Health

Education is an important metric of national, economic and social development and a pathway to improved health outcomes. A clear understanding of the macro-level contexts in which education impacts health is integral to improving national health administration and policy. Within the Population Health Unit, we have a growing body of research that has been exploring the influence of education on health, incorporating research and evaluation topics aimed at understanding health in the school-age child and adolescents, including exploring the use of schools as a platform for health intervention (such as ITNs, deworming), disease surveillance and further understanding spatial access and school catchment areas for education and health planning
